Ireland held the Special Olympics last time around and my town was host town to one of the participating countries. It was a very exciting time for all involved and also wonderful when some local athletes came home proudly sporting medals. It is a wonderful time for all whether you are involved directly or indirectly. It is not about winning but the taking part.
