I was in a queue in M&S, with ds2 (18mths - global delay) sat in the trolley. I was playing with ds and trying to get him to clap (not much joy there!) when suddenly this elderly gentleman who was stood behind me said:-
`You are so lucky. Your little chap so obviously adores you - his love for you just shines from his eyes.'
I could barely respond as I immediately started to well up. I sort of mumbled a yes, he's lovely
but couldn't bring myself to turn around just in case a full-on blub started - I was so incredibly moved!
I dont know whether the chap had realized that something was amiss with ds, I tend to think he might have, but it was such a lovely thing to say...
Now if someone had said that comment to me when ds1 (NT) was a baby, it would have been appreciated, but a bit like water off a ducks back. It just brought it home to me what a lovely little chap my ds2 is and I was touched that someone else could see it too.

Someone said something lovely to me yesterday - but it made me want to cry!
