Daily structure and routine are vital*
Do the smae thing at the same time in the same place**Disclaimer for some kids with ASD perhaps!
Find your own way to communicate effectively with your child and keep doing it
Repaet learning/overlearning to build understanding and confidence
Involve your child in group activities/peer groups to help develop social skills
Never treat them differently to other children-just understand that they think differently
Use a mirror to show your child what facial expressions look like to other people and the non verbal messages being sent eg happy/sad/anxious/bored
Have high expectations for yuor child, not low ones
Show visible signs of achievement-hang certificates on the wall
Celebrate success-nothing builds confidence more than this
Always encourage
Be positive and have hope for the future
