Child Growth Foundation - long shot

This is a bit of a long shot but is anyone attending the Child Growth Foundation Conference in Northampton this weekend.

The Child Growth Foundation is a charity that specialises in overgrowth/undergrowth in Children (i.e. it has specialist groups for Sotos Syndrome (my daughter's condition), Bone Dysplasia, PSM/Precocious Puberty, Growth Hormone Deficiency, Turners Syndrome, et al).

I attended my first conference within 2 weeks of Sasha being diagnosed with Sotos (overgrowth/delayed development) back in 2004 (in London) and have attended 2 conferences since in Northampton. Couldn't attend last year due to holiday commitments but am attending this year - was wondering whether any MNetters might be there.

I am not - but I have a friend (not sure if she is a Mumsnetter or not!) who might well be going, her dd has a growth related syndrome, and she has done a lot of sponsored events for the CGF - would you like me to email her and ask? (Or I can just butt out and stop being nosey, please don't be afraid to tell me to get lost! Just thought it might be worth a shot....)

PS I think from posts earlier this week that you and I live relatively close to each other.

Possibly! The closest I can say is that I live in Surrey (but not the 'leafy' part, i.e. not as far as Camberley, Guildford, etc.). More like South London!

We are on the 'borders' of the furthest SW postcode of London and Surrey!

I live in Carshalton and attend St. Helier.

Hi Bumblelion, my friend is going to be there, she is hosting a session as well.

Paynes Rark - ooh that is 'so' cryptic, no-one will get that one will they?! Most care at SGH for dd1, altho SALT from Queen Mary's. (Lisa - really lovely)

Hope the Conference goes well.

Might bump into your friend then, but wouldn't know her from 'Adam'!

What session is your friend hosting?

All my DDs care is at Queen Mary's (St. Helier), ENT, Audiology, genetics, occupational therapy, physiotherapy etc. although glad to say that now she is nearly 7 (3 weeks today) we only attend for routine appointments - ENT (yesterday), audiology (Monday). Used to go to Sutton Hospital for eyes but she got discharged from there when they realised she had no problems (only took about 4 years of testing!!!) - although saying that I can't complain because the help/support we have been offered is unsurmountable.

SALT attends school monthly.

She is called Rachel and she is hosting a networking session for 60 people.

She won't know who Pheasant Plucker is, but if you mention St George's NNU charity she will know who I am! (Well, I hope she will!)(This is the most I have ever given away about myself on MN!! I feel very daring!)

I think the OT who goes to dd1's school is from St Helier too, they cover our borough. dd1 is 7.

My dd1 has CP, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, VI and global delay. dd2 is NT.

Hope it was good
