i have cabin fever, and no help today so am housebound. been awake since 4am. have a pile of things to go to the post office- can't take them. ds1 is bored and keeps climbing on everything and leaning against ropey windows; can't think what to do with him.

aaagghh i can hear loads of things crashing off the work surfaces (sounds as if he's in the microwave) and don't have the energy to stop feeding babe and go and see to him.

think i feel better now.

Bl**dy half-term. My ds1 has mutated into the child from hell this week. I can't tell if it's the virus he's got, the loss of usual school routine or a mixture of both.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

That feels a little bit better.

Jimjams Fri 18-Feb-05 11:21:04

tbh I shouldn'tmcomplain as ds1 has been easierthan usual this week (always easier when ill) it's the housebound bit I find hard.

Must be something in the air then cause my 2 are completely vile this week. Roll on tuesday!

nasa Fri 18-Feb-05 11:35:27

jimjams, don't know how you do it. I can barely cope with 1 without going mad from time to time.
Being stuck in teh house is frustrating isn't it

Jimjams Fri 18-Feb-05 11:45:01

one good thing though- as I can't go out with threedh has had to pick ds2 up from nursery this week- so I'll get some company at lunch time

amynnixmum Fri 18-Feb-05 11:46:18

Get him to bring you back something yummy for lunch to cheer you up.

JakB Fri 18-Feb-05 12:42:12

Jimjams, Oh I really, really feel for you. Had so many days like THAT. And I've only got two and don't have the 'half-term' thing yet. It's that feeling that you REALLY can't go anywhere that is so depressing. Know it well.
Thinking of you
CT- sorry you're having a rough time too. {{hugs}}

MrsFROSTgetful Fri 18-Feb-05 14:30:38

yep...had 'THAT' day yesterday!

Today the sun is shining- 2 of my 3 are at a playscheme...and i've been into town with ds3 and had our lunch....and done s*d all in the house!!!!

coppertop Fri 18-Feb-05 14:47:33

MrsF. After a morning/afternoon of screaming, tantrums and meltdowns (including a few from me too ) I turned into a screaming fishwife and made them both sit still for 2 minutes. 30 seconds later and they were both snoring on the settee. My ears are still ringing from all the noise and I'm sure the neighbours are ready to call in SS but it's finally quiet.

The first person to wake them up either by phoning or ringing the doorbell will find out exactly how p*ssed off I can get.

MrsFROSTgetful Fri 18-Feb-05 14:52:55

.....AND WHERE DID YOU GO AS SOON AS YOU GOT CHANCE....TO VISIT US ON mn!!!!

coppertop Fri 18-Feb-05 15:06:44

I know. I haven't even had chance to have some lunch yet. The monsters were fed though (just in case anyone thinks I'm depriving them of food ).

JaysMum Fri 18-Feb-05 15:07:45

Ive just dug out two cold sausages that were lurking at the bottom of the fridge!!!!!

Not good for my waistline!!!!!

MrsFROSTgetful Fri 18-Feb-05 15:08:04

i'll get social services on to you.....OOOOOOOOOOOOh! we wish! They never come when we NEEEEEEED them!

JaysMum Fri 18-Feb-05 15:09:03

Who are social services??????????

MrsFROSTgetful Fri 18-Feb-05 15:10:50

J..... those two cold sausages....were they fresh or gone off....i'll get environMENTAL health onto you too!!!!

JaysMum Fri 18-Feb-05 15:11:33

Ummmm not sure the dog ate them anyway because I left the plate on the floor!!!!!!

coppertop Fri 18-Feb-05 15:11:46

A waistline? What's one of those?

Maybe that's the answer, MrsF. We should all report each other to SS and use it as a way in?

"I'd like to report MrsForgetful for neglect and cruelty please.....Yes, the noise from her house is terrible. I can hear it all the way from my house...."

coppertop Fri 18-Feb-05 15:13:11

<groans at EnvironMENTAL Health>

MrsFROSTgetful Fri 18-Feb-05 15:14:32

"yes and she never gets her kids dressed...they are in p.J's all day"....... " she gives them SUGARY cups of tea.." and best of all "she has odd socks trailing round the house"

JaysMum Fri 18-Feb-05 15:15:21

I would report myself anonymously....cant spell it!!!....if I thought it would get us help from SS!!!!!!!

JaysMum Fri 18-Feb-05 15:18:01

Socks???? Please explain...what are they????

coppertop Fri 18-Feb-05 15:19:25

I think of you and your milky tea everytime ds2 wanders around the room drinking the dregs of other people's cups of tea, MrsF.

If the SS is anything like my HV I don't think I'd be holding my breath waiting for them to turn up.

Twiglett Fri 18-Feb-05 15:19:39

I have cabin fever too .. been stuck inside since Saturday afternoon with snot-gobbling pukey monsters

my boobs smell of 9 month old's vomit despite changing clothes too
