A great day out

Just wanted to share. We took the ds's to Duxford yesterday.
Both had a fantastic day & it was great value.

Kids are free anyway, & a carer gets in free with a disabled person so we only had to pay for one adult.
So the 4 of us got in for £16.00. Good value for a full day out.

Pretty mush everywhere is wheelchair friendly, the only places a w/chair user can not access is the 2 or 3 aircraft that you an go on, Concorde being one of them. The only way in is by normal aircraft steps.

Loads of outside space, & the hangers are big & airy so didn't feel crowded & there's hands on stuff too.

The only place ds2 couldn't cope with was the maintenance hanger, the glue smell upset him & i ended up taking him outside. He was in his m/buggy so not an issue but i could see the urge to duck under the ropes & touch soem of the more delicate exhibits a bit much for some children.
The american hanger you can touch all the exhibits so not a problem.

The staff were all so friendly & helpful.

Oh & if you pay by cash to get in you can by-pass the queue, in fact there were people outside managing the queue at the entrance, The noticed ds2 getting a bit anxious with the queuing & took us in aside door.

Its the only queue we saw all day as well.

yes it was easily missed..sort of to the side and back from the American bit.
We had a few hands-over-ears slightly panicky moments for ds ..and he gave the simulator a very wide berth (haven't quite figured out why they panic him so yet) but on the whole he absolutely loved it.Lots of planes taking off and landing and some great displays (the world war 2 street one was good wasn't it)

We'll definitely go back when we are down sometime
