I don't dare to put this in chat or who knows what will happen...

It looks like I'll be up quite late, somebody doesn't seem interested in sleeping. I'm glad she ate though!

DS4 left his plate of boiled new potatoes and chicken pie with julienne carrots.

I have tried getting him to wear his glasses for a week now...

this is the perfect excuse to rid myself of the guilt that he had 'love heart' sweets, an ice-pop, and a packet of crisps for his tea instead, cos it kept his hands busy and his glasses on! he may turn into a little porker, but at least he will be able to see !!!

DS wouldn't go near the filled pasta for dinner. He had a ham sandwich for lunch. He's quite keen on ham. A pity since some of my relatives are observant orthodox Jews

DD1 had home-made cornish pasties. Before I polish my virtuous mummy halo, I must point out that at the moment about the only class of food she will eat is "things-in-pastry" and as she's on a dairy-free diet that means we have to make all the feckers from scratch. 8 out of 10 are spat out again but now and then one sticks, and cornish pasties (oddly) is one of those. I wish the little ratbag would eat love heart sweets and a packet of crisps... let alone a sandwich! lol.

just got back from hols, dd would only have choc spread. she has never had it before. also she asked for her drink cup to be filled with cola cola.

i gave in to the choc, said her teeth would fall out with cola cola, if she had persisted in not drinikng who knows what would have happened.
i never thought i would get to this.

there was a time when DS would only allow one item on his plate, he is much better now thou he still doesn't like different foods touching on his plate!

I'm very impressed with the sandwich brigade. DS will only eat plain crackers. And that is the healthy option. The rest of the day its biscuits and ice cream.

The only bread product my DD will eat is marmite on toast. And I live in France! Beautiful bread, croissants, etc. everywhere and I have to buy the sliced stuff and extortionately expensive imported marmite. Actually DD's supper was not too bad (mainly fruit) but lunch was crisps, tomatoes, cheese spread (straight out of the packet not on crackers!), horribly sickly petit filou yoghurts and melon. I added the melon just to make myself feel better for the rest of it! She also has tomatoes with nearly every meal. (Has great skin tho! Unfortunately tomatoes give DS eczema)

I find myself trying to find the good in all foodstuffs. eg. Crisps, well could be worse it's not sweets. or trying to ignore the fact that for every half-mouthful of mashed, gravy soaked veg he has had ten (aunty bessies) roast potatoes!

I used to worry about DS getting his 5 a week day he wouldn't eat fruit or veg, still he did have strawberry toothpaste

Report
TotalChaos · 30/07/2008 09:13

DS's sole veg intake is pizza, tomato ketchup and carrot cake.

Report
Seuss · 30/07/2008 09:20

Oh, if I can count tomato ketchup and strawberry toothpaste we are nearly up to five a week day.

onlyjoking9329 · 30/07/2008 09:52

of course you can count ketchup, chips are good as long as cooked in vegetable oil

sausages, sausages rolls, sausage & chips anything as long as it has a sausage. except for a Friday when he'll have a Cheese & tomato pizza.

ds son will eat fruit but veg are a real no go!

Recently he has started eating chips / roast pots and pot wedges - all known as chips to ds. I was so proud when he ate a roast pot with 1 sweetcorn inserted inside (mummy nail then pressed to reform!) .

Glad ketchup counts, can I have processed cheese slices as dairy? (pushing it a bit!)

Ds1 will scarcely touch any vegetables. I can get brocolli into him if it's whizzed up with some passata and served with pasta and he has eaten cabbage recently, but not much else apart from potatoes. At the moment he will only eat weetabix, peanut butter sandwiches, cheese and tomato pizza, pasta in bolognaise sauce, baked beans/spaghetti hoops, yoghurts, shop bought smoothies and fruit bars.

DS likes brioche as well. I find the Tesco's ones are quite nice if they are very fresh. Well done to your DS Magso.
DS ate one pea a few weeks ago. This feat has yet to be repeated . Last time I went to Wagamama's he was hungry, so had a little of my gingery noodle dish , am looking forward to Wagamama's opening up in Liverpool in case we get a repeat performance.

max - my DS will eat quorn sausages but not meat ones(!)

r3 - what a PITA that the pasties etc have to be home made.

Oh noodles! I forgot about noodles, Ds1 will eat those as well.
Peopel often suggest I get him involved in preparing the food. I do and he is very enthusiastic about helping. He will pour things and stir things and roll things and (with some help) cut things and watch as they go into the oven or in the pan. But when it comes to eating them that's an entirely different matter.

DS likes to help me prepare flapjacks - but then refuses to eat them. He has been more willing to try a bit of filled pasta when he's made it with me, so I think it may be a slight help getting them involved, but not a cure all.
