Should I give ds2 Phenergan if his Asthma is playing up??

Ds2 has Phenergan if he's had a few very bad nights & we are all desperate for some sleep, but i don't really like giving it to him.

He has had a bad chest & has coughed all night on top of his normal nightime shinanagans, so we have averaged about 3 hrs a night for the last week or so.

I've lost the leaflet that comes with the bottle does anyone know if it can make his asthma/breathing worse.

I'm desperate for some sleep but would sooner avoid a trip to A&E.

Thanks
Max

I don't know anything about it but have you tried googling it? Sometiems you can get all the information you'd have in the leaflet that way.

I can't see how an antihistamine could do anything other than help, really- I mean, it may not, but I wouldn't have thought it could possibly make asthma worse. Agree with emkana that it's worth googling for the leaflet though.

I've had a google all i could come up with is "consult your dr before taking if asthmatic"
But the dr prescribed it & he has been OK before, its just his chest is bad at the moment.

Even if I give it to him I'll probably sit listening to him wheeze anyway

If the doctor prescribed it before I would give it a go. Poor you, I have spent many nights like that in the past, plus ds used to vomit every time he coughed which was an additional joy. Good luck

Thanks, I'll give him a dose.
He is sitting on his bed saying he can't go to sleep because all his teeth fall out??

Don't know where that came from, but I think I'm in for a long night
