Distancing from friends since ASD Diagnosis

My DD is 2.7 and was diagnosed ASD a few months ago. While I am trying hard to keep positive, and I know she is doing really well at nursery and in therapy, I am finding the journey to be extremely difficult.
None of my friends who have children have really asked how she’s getting on and I’m just always exhausted from the constant extra admin etc and the battles we have to get the support she needs. I just don’t really want to be around anyone with kids a similar age and who have no idea what I’m going through.
I don’t like the idea of losing friends but I feel like it’s inevitable and I should maybe focus on finding people who do understand.
Just wondered if anyone further into the process can let me know if this gets easier.
Thanks

I've always found, apart from family, no one really gets it and the best support and acceptance I get is from parents in a similar situation. lol for local ASD children's groups.
