just wondered if anyone watched 'the wright stuff' this morning. they were discussing terminating birth defect babies......got me quite fired up....did anyone else watch and what were your thoughts?

I saw that they were going to discuss that topic so I watched last night's Numb3rs instead.
Too much stress that early in the morning for me.

i must admit i actually calle din on the hotline. a very difficult subject but i just found myself gobsmaked at the parents whole take on it.

I watched it, and found it quite schocking.
What would happen if your baby was born with a chromosomal disorder that wasn't spotted at the 20-week scan.
What if everything seemed fine, but your child was later found to be developmentally delayed, or autistic, what would you do then?
It was very upsetting to watch.
But the little boy with ds was sooooo cute!
He made me smile through my tears.Teary !

deeja that was exactly what i wanted to phone in and say! what if your child appeared fine but later in life became ill or had a mental illness? mil 36yr old bro in law still ives at home and is depenadant on his parents and always will be due to menatl health issues....who could have forseen that?
