Really struggling with my dd who is 8 at the moment and need some advice if possible ! She is going through assessment for ASD at the moment. She is really struggling with the way she looks, she hates her hair but won't let me brush it so it is very tangly, she hates all her clothes and this morning had an absolute meltdown, chucking all her t shirts and her leggings all over the floor getting in a state and saying she doesn't know what to wear. This went on for around an hour. It's boiling here today but she is insisting on wearing hot leggings and a hoody! I find it hard to know how to cope with her and end up yelling at her which I know is the wrong thing to do. I said I would take her shopping tomorrow for new clothes. I don't know if it's just a phase or part of her ASD. Anyone else have this ???
