I am 22weeks pregnant as of today.
I have found out my baby has brain abnormalities. They have named it as microcephaly and brachycephaly which I am not familiar but have read some stories about it. I had a Fetal MRI done waiting for the results and preparing for the worst as all I have heard is the worst. I have been told my daughter may have serve learning disability and may have problems with mobility. They have given me the option to have a termination. This is my first pregnancy and I am so scared all I want is my daughter to be healthy. Would you know what I would be expecting if I decided to continue with the pregnancy? Might the Fetal MRI shown something different? I would love to know if anyone has been through the same and what were the outcomes?

Baby's HC 148.7mm
BPD 42.9mm
TCD 15.8mm
AC 163.7mm
FL 37.4mm
Fetal weight 404g

@whyismysoullost They didn't tell me their was fluid on her brain. They told me her brain had not developed and the two parts that are suppose to connect the two sides of the brain did not form. Her brain is smooth but it is suppose to be the texture like a walnut.

OP I'm cautious to advise you as this is not my specialism.

Microcephaly could range from mild- severe learning difficulties. It will be difficult to determine the level of disability at this stage till your baby is born and you keep an eye on its development.

I'm more worried about the smooth baby brain and the lack of Corpus Callosum (the bit where it joins the left and the right side of the brain together).

I would wait till you hear the results of the Fetal MRI to be certain.

I would also post in the baby development..: pregnancy forum on Mumsnet as the SN Chat boards mainly have children with Autism or ADHD. A very small minority have children with rare disorders- so you may not get enough replies on here.

@whyismysoullost
Thank you.
I am also worried about the smooth baby brain, that is what is scaring me.
I couldn't careless if her head was small it's just her brain is not developed and I fear for what the future can hold for her.

I am definitely going to wait for the MRI results.

I will also post in the baby development group.

Thank so much for your help.
