Hi,
We have a child in year 3 who is going through the EHC process. It is looking increasingly likely that his existing school will not be suitable for his needs and it has been suggested that we start to get familiar with schools with a specialist provision.
My child is high functioning, so keen to find somewhere that can provide individual timetable, support with transitions etc, but also provide access to a stretching curriculum.
If anyone has any recommendations, rumors, gossip or first-hand experience, I'd be grateful.

I'm afraid I don't know Greenwich, but in our borough we found the Borough SENCO to be useful. This was EYFS so I guess you'd need a similar person in charge of KS2... but could be worth contacting the Council to see if there is somebody in that kind of role that could be useful to talk to? Interestingly in our are she didn't particularly recommend places with an ASC base (I guess on the basis that DD wouldn't get a place for one of those, so it wasn't so relevant for her) but went more for small intake schools. I'm a bit torn about small intake because on one hand yes, it's less busy, but on the other hand it's also a smaller group of children to find like-minded friends from.

There are also a couple of Facebook groups in Hackney for parents of kids with SEN - if you can find similar in Greenwich they could also be a useful source of information.
