Got a meeting at school with SENCO this week . Wants to fill in the part "aspirations of young person and parents". I explained that I already did that in my paperwork but I have to go in and fill it in with them anyway. What's a good way to explain to school exactly WHY I want the EHCP in mainstream l?

How old is your dc? What are their main difficulties?

For us the key reason for asking for the EHCP was so that ds could achieve his full potential and fully access the curriculum. He would not be able to do either of these without the additional support provided by the EHCP. Another concern was his safety whilst at school.

Hopefully someone with older dc will come along and give you some advice soon. My ds has only just started Reception so his needs and issues are likely to be very different. I hope the meeting goes well.
