DLA waiting times

Hi, I just wondered if anyone had recently applied for DLA for their child and how long they had to wait for their form to be processed? This is the first time that I have applied for my daughter and I sent the application in a month ago and still haven't heard anything to say that they have received it?
I rang them last week as I'm concerned that it has been lost in the post, but the lady reassured me that I shouldn't be concerned yet. She said that it wasn't on the system as of yet, but that there was quite a delay in them being scanned on to the system at the moment.


My friend sent her form off last week though (a renewal for DLA, not a fresh application) and has already received a text to confirm they have received it! Now I'm once again worrying that it has in fact been lost, or perhaps fresh applications are dealt with in a different department to renewal applications?

It would be nice to know how long others have waited recently. Thank you

I applied on May 23rd, had a letter saying it had been received on June 14th and the first payment (in advance of any letter telling me it had been awarded!) on June 23rd.

Posted mine a fortnight ago - rang to check they'd received it middle of this week and it was showing as being on their system. Not expecting to be awarded it, but shy bairns get nowt as my mum says. Think they route them off for scanning in according to surname from stuff I've read online and some run faster than others.

Not had any formal acknowledgement they've received the form though - I just chased it up cos our post locally is shockingly bad.

I applied on the 20th November and got a text on the 16th December to say they had received it. Didn’t get awarded it till 15th February.

Applied Dec, text acknowledgement 1 or 2 weeks later. Awarded January.
Same as above, i was excepting to get anything or assumed it'd be low-rated...we got middle-rated!
Same as above again, noticed first payment on my banking app, in advance of recieving the award letter.

Ds2's took 6 weeks although they did phone and ask for more evidence after 2 weeks which took forever to get from the school senco.
