Carers Allowance and Marriage Allowance

Does anyone know the impacts on carers allowance of claiming the marriage tax allowance? We have just got DLA for DD which would entitle me to Carers as I do not work because her. I applied for Carers but have been sent so much paperwork, more each time I send the last lot back it seems.

This time they want my partners tax code because he claims marriage tax allowance - thus reducing his tax bill by using some of my personal allowance. This is worth £220 per year to us, so obviously if it will screw up the carers I would rather bin that, than loose the £60 a week.

Does anyone know what they use it for?

no idea about marriage allowance but I don't think it matters as it is not income as such. I thought the CA form only asks for your income.
there is a earning threshold for CA which is £108 (or even £112) per week so I wouldn't think the marriage allowance of £200 annually matter in any case.

it wasnt a question on the original form, it is a subsequent letter asking for more information... feels a bit like they are stalling!

I would give them a ring. I find the helpline really helpful.
