Moving my son to new school after ADHD diagnosis

Hello
I am after some advice please, my son has been diagnosed with ADHD today and it is not a surprise to us as we have seen he has it and just wanted a professional diagnosis to help us support him better.

he is currently in an outstanding state school (Year 1) but I feel the large classes and the lack of resources is not helping him a lot in his education and we have been looking into moving him into an independent school with smaller classes and has more extra curricular activities such as art and music, which he is passionate about but so far it has been quite challenging as the schools we have viewed or contacted they dont seem to cater for kids with ADHD.

Does anyone have kids with ADHD in independent schools? what should we look for and should we tell them in full details about our son diagnosis?

your help is much appreciated.

You need to tell the schools. Don't live in England - my son has iep that school produce every term. He's not severe enough for a statment. My son loves his primary and fortunately medication has worked wonders for him.

What are the needs you want catered for? Do you think he needs 1:1 attention.
