If they are local authority employees they are very restricted on the type of gifts they can accept.

What about a homemade card decorated by your child with a little message of thanks and xmas wishes from you?

I have a teen who wouldn't really be up for doing that, but I'd still like to do something.

That hadn't occurred to me either. so not the bottle of Brandy I have already bought the taxi driver? I wouldn't want to cause embarrassment. not even a box of chocolates?
