My 3 yr old has speech delay

My DD turned 3 years at the end of June. She has delayed speech. She started using words in April at 33 months old. Her first words were ice cream and cake. She has not been diagnosed with any other conditions e.g. autism and is not showing any symptoms. She is coming out with new words each day. Not all of her speech is clear as she still needs practice and she is starting to form basic sentences when asking for things e.g. Lolly please mummy, more please mummy, help please. My DD is under SALT on NHS we have some basic targets to meet and they will review her in 3 months. I wanted to ask other parents who have experienced this - did your child catch up to the same level as their peers? Also what do you feel made the biggest difference to their progress?

DS2 is 4 and has a major speech clarity delay. His sentences are long and intricate and age appropriate but very very unclear.

It turns out he has glue ear and can't hear words clearly. We've been given to the end of the summer holiday to see if it clears more otherwise will have to consider grommits. .

My nearly 3yo daughter is also a little speech delayed and we think it was due to glue ear. She's still not speaking in sentences yet but is gradually building up her vocab and starting to chain words together. I think trying to engage in conversation is the way to go so talking about what you see and asking her questions including some that she can say yes and no to. They also say expanding their sentences is good so if she says sheep you could say white sheep or fluffy sheep etc.

My son was 3 and wasn't yet putting two words together. He is now 6 and though his speech has caught up to his peers (he has clear speech with good word knowledge base), he has trouble communicating with peers (lacks context/speaks about things only to interest to him etc.)
