Autism Aspergers Help needed please

Hi I have 3 kids we all have ehlers danlos syndrome and we all also have separate health conditions as well. I have a private appointment for all 3 of them with a paediatrician this week in London. I read a blog and some other bits from a lady and it was like a light bulb had gone on that they had aspergers. How likely is it to run in families? I have read recently about a connection between EDS and autism. We have sent off forms that the doctor is going to perform assessments on them etc. I home educate them so there is no input from schools etc, and I did not know a lot about autism before this. Could you tell me any experiences with aspergers, or autism and what led you to believe that it was that? Thank you :)

I have one child diagnosed with Asperger's, one under assessment and two with EDS. I also have EDS and strongly believe there's a connection but I've never found any evidence.
My children are the poster kids for ASD - the national autism society website has a list of symptoms.

Two kids with EDS. One child diagnosed with ASD (formerly Aspergers) last week. The other child? Something's up! Don't think it's autism but possibly Dyspraxia.

one high functioning asd child that is very bendy. (hypermobile but no problems)

one hypermobility syndrome child. being assessed for asd. (high funcitoning) I also suspect dyspraxia, but hey ho.
