I found a strand of hair on DS scrotum and he has developed an odour under his arms.

I'm distraught .

7 is extremely young for a boy to start puberty, make an appointment with your GP they can 'freeze' his development for a couple of years.

Take him to the doctor, anything under the age of 9 for boys is known as Precocious puberty, if it is the staret of puberty, you need to get it delayed.

This is normally one little injection.

But what would the injection do to DS brain ? His under developing as it is . I'm going to take him to the Dr.

Nothing it's an injection to stop testosterone increases, his brain should be fine.

But reading on google PB can sometimes mean that there's a brain tumour going on.

okay. Maybe we should let your GP decide these things.

Made an urgent appointment to my GP ( I was hysterical ). He examined DS and said that he showed no other signs of puberty. He measured DS height and weight (as a sudden growth spurt can indicate puberty), DS is under - average. He wasn't worried about DS fine hairs as he said that DS may have premature adrenarche which is different from precocious puberty, even if he doesn't have premature adrenarche this usually doesn't need a referral.

DS odour seems to have vanished ! Even after being out and about in the sun. Maybe it would come back again.

I'm keeping a close eye on DS, after a few weeks, if I spot any sudden changes (. Hair getting thicker, taller). I will request a blood test and ask to get DS refereed to an endro... ( can't spell the full specialist name who deal with premature puberty).

I've also been reading that there's some hormones in food which can set early puberty symptons... especially milk. DS has an allergy to milk, so I thought it couldn't be the case. Though the allergen free milk which he drinks do contains hormones. So I have just switched DS milk to an organic free from dairy milk. I'll see how it goes !

Though I don't know what to do next. I'm included not to take the GPS advice and wait a week to make another appointment so that DS can take blood tests ( to see his levels of testosterone) and be referred.

Just to say if gp doesn't do the bloods don't panic. It may be inappropriate for a gp to subject an immature 7 year old to blood tests if he may be referred on as he would almost certainly have bloods done again by the specialist who may want do specific ones.
