Here some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on SN.
Just had a letter about ds's review with date, which says if parents can't do this date we will go ahead without you. . Is that normal or just clumsy wording? I can go (seriously I have no life outside ds facilitating, I can always go ) but what if you couldn't get off work or something?
Although, obviously, it is really important that parents do attend reviews, there are times and situations where this not possible and they can go ahead without parents attending.
It must be quite rare, though, that they can't just reschedule for a day when the parents can attend.
I don't really understand how they'd review it without ds and our input. He has been discharged from all services except school.

I agree clumsy wording - or would rather hope it was! I can see that in some circumstances where a parent doesn't try to rearrange or acknowledge review or show it just covers their back that it's gone ahead in their absence.
