Getting access to meeting minutes

My ds has been discussed at a local authority panel meeting. I would like to access the minutes for the section of the meeting which deals with his case. How do I go about this and how quickly can I get them? Any advice appreciated. Thanks

You could make a subject access request under the Data Protection Act. However, it may well be that the minute records little more than "The panel discussed Minicansu and decided not to agree to an assessment of his needs" (or whatever the decision is). if I were you I'd extend the request to one asking for all the records relating to your child, to ensure that they've done their job properly - particularly in relation to asking for reports.

Thanks, yes I suspect you are right about the meeting. I have started to draft a letter to make the request. I know there have been emails sent regarding the problem so I am going to include a request for copies of these too. So bloody tedious.

I used to sit on the SEN panel, minutes only recorded he outcome which was shared with parents. E.g. Agreed to assess, xxx to do xxx

Look up data protection on the LA's website - they may well have a form for subject access requests which may be simpler than a letter.
