Sports for anxious ASD

DS (6) is anxious and, according to his recent diagnosis report, struggles with his personal space being invaded although this isn't obvious to others at all. He is aggressive and angry a lot and can't empathise or express emotions at all.
He is slim, fit and athletic and adores running and riding his mountain bike on tracks and on rough paths but there are just two places locally where he can do this. And always with me or his dad.
He was doing rugby but says he hates it - the mud, cold, certain boys he says are 'rude' to him, and it's such a battle to get him there that I now give up.
Does after-school gymnastics at school but hates that too–he can't explain why.
Likes splashing about in the pool when I get the chance to take him swimming, but can't really swim that well and all the lessons are full up.
I'm tying to think of a sport he'd enjoy that's not too competitive or doesn't involve conflict (I think). And also means he can interact with peers to an extent, not always his parents.
He used to play football at lunch in his old school but doesn't seem to be allowed in the current school maybe due to the restricted play area. So he seems to have lost interest in it although on days when he did play, he was less angry and aggressive by hometime. I could try him with after school football but would that be like the rugby?
I want him to be active and involved as I think good fitness habits stay with you for life. I know he's only 6 though...
would love to hear from anyone in a similar situation.

Kayaking, horseriding, rock climbing.

None are team sports but all can be social at different levels.

Indoor football? Mine go to football in sports hall. 30mins of skills then mini matches for next 30 mins. All my boys hate cold and wet.

I'm putting ds in 1-1 swimming as classes are too busy for him but hoping he might follow big Bro into club swimming (once he can swim)
