My ds is 3 years old and has asd. Thinking to the future I wonder what things will change and what things will stay the same.
For instance - at the moment he has no interaction at all with other children or even his brother. Will this change as he gets older?
Also, he doesn't seem aware of the world around him - he understands things and who people are, but his awareness levels seem very different to his NT brother. Again, is this something that changes with age?

Things will change as he matures and develops in the same way it changes for all children. Some areas may develop slower due to the delays associated with asd.
But he will develop his own little personality and Ive found as ds has got older and other children have developed into their own selves his 'differences' are accepted more as children his age (12) are far more diverse in personality than back when they were 4/5 iyswim?
