Delayed myelination?

Does anyone have any experience of this? It has shown up on my two year olds MRI. We're waiting to speak to hospital about it but they seemed unsure on the phone as to whether this explains her very delayed gross motor skills. Would really appreciate any info anyone has.

I have a child with an extreme form of epilepsy leading to severe brain damage. He has delayed myelination. It was explained t o me in terms of the white matter being like the insulation on electrical wiring . It develops over early life and when delayed it is an indicator of something wrong in the development of the brain. Does your child have any diagnosis yet?
