Help and wording for EHCP assessment request?

I'm filling out a form for an EHCP assessment for DS. A section of the form asks you discuss the following:

  1. A summary of the young person’s difficulties
  2. The educational outcomes you believe are not being met
  3. The support you believe is required

Number 1 is fairly straightforward. Number 2, not quite so, as DS is only 3 and only just started preschool. Number 3, I have some ideas.

Anyway, my main question was whether I should word things in a certain way or use certain language when I'm describing things. I've seen on other threads that this is important.

If anyone could help me out either with ideas or wording, I would be so grateful. Flowers

Hi - not sure this is my area of expertise but you could look at the EYFS stuff. It includes things on expected social and emotional behaviours. Our DS still doesn't meet some of that and he's in KS2 :/ It will give you an idea of the average milestones that he might be measured against. Good luck

There are also the 4 areas of need listed in the SEN Code of Practice. You could look at those and list out the help you think is required using that as a framework. Eg social skills group or circle of friends under Cognitive, OT support under Sensory/Motor etc

This is good. Nursery will tell you if there's been an update version since.
