The ombudsman has found against a council who refused to consider the mother's need to work when assessing her son's care needs. She complains the council failed to consider awarding direct payments to provide for care of her son while she is at work.
This may be useful for those who have children and young people with care needs requiring 5 day package of provision. You should not have to give up work or training to care for your child if their education package is not full time.
