I just got my son's Atec rules yesterday where he scored a 48. He is 3 and 1/2. I didn't think that was too bad but when I read up on it it said that under 30 they can expect to lead an independent life so this has obviously really upset me as I hadn't really contemplated anything else for him. Has anyone any insight on this test? I know it's not a dignosis (I am fully expecting a hf asd dignosis )just used as a measuring tool and I was very critical filling it out. I'd just love to know if anyone could explain it to me a bit better.

No one knows how any child will develop just encourage and support him. My friend used to say 'aim for the moon you may just hit the stars'

I never really thought of it about his ability now, I kind of thought it was that he would never live an independent life. But yes there is no way any 3 year old would be able to live independently I just didn't really understand the results and I was hoping someone here might be able to help me get a better understanding.
