hi,
I never posted on a discussion before but i just received a letter from new claims with a letter DBD225A. my question is i have applied for DLAa for my daughter and have had no response other than a confirmation of application form and now this form reminding me about my responsibilities but not had an award notice. do this mean that my daughter is entitled to DLA and possible this letter came before the award notice or the claim was unsuccessful or that they are looking into it. its Saturday and cant ring them to find out more information. any advice would be much appreciated.
THANKS

Have you checked your bank to see if a payment has gone in?

standard letter and means nothing in my experience. I had it when we were turned down and again when they gave in to our and awarded DLA.

could go either way I'd say.

Thank you!
we applied For our daughter and was refused about 6 months ago but we had a letter saying point blank no.
We were then told by health visitor afoot a month ago to reapply so we did Then we had the DBD225A responsibility form this time.

I got my money a week before any letter to say I had been awarded so they seem to do things in a random order. Sorry I havent had the letter you mention though.

I received one of these letter too informing me of my responsibilities IF my son gets an award

Totally confusing me spoke to someone last week - who told me she didn't understand my child's illness well I don't understand it either he was able bodied until February then after a medical investigation he can no longer walk ?? I told her I didn't understand it either - she asked why he couldn't take himself out of harms way (he can't walk) why does he need to put water on him of it hurts (he needs to wash) the conversation went on with all these silly questions she asked what pain med he was on I told her he can't take opiates and the medication they had given him had bad side effects so had to be stopped oh so he's not taking pain killers (no) since which time we tried another painkiller but that had to be stopped because it made him not go for a wee so again no pain relief considered phoning he to let her know but I feel it's futile -

She said she was going to put his file in front of a doctor because she didn't understand it I said good he may know what's wrong with my child

Has anyone any idea how long until the next letter comes rejection notice or award ?
