Meltdowns ?

How do you calm your dcs with asd when they have a meltdown? Atm all we are having is meltdown after meltdown ds stayed with his dad last night as I needed a break and apparently he made himself sick he screamed that much ... Any suggestions welcome !

We try to avoid them. I try to see what triggers the meltdown and if possible avoid altogether. Not always possible so in that case I tend to make sure he's safe and can't hurt himself and let the worst of it pass. Thankfully they are few in this house. Sorry that maybe isn't much help. My main advice is try to
Figure out what causes them.

I think he's got himself hyped up about going back to nursery yesterday after the 2 weeks off and then obviously was knackered afterwards , change in routine etc it's the only thing I can think of tbh

Do you use picture schedule with him?
It might help prepare him for changes in routine.

We have them on the wall like a timeline , but not been used recently with everything going on will sort them today ! They did really help my brains just fried atm , thanks for reminding me!
