DS has just turned 3. DP and I have thought he might be autistic since he was about 1.5 but our first health visitor fobbed us off. We moved a year ago and since then our new health visitor has been fab. She has referred us to the paediatrician and we have an appointment in May.

DS has been attending nursery since last June. We had a parent meeting with them a few weeks ago and they discussed the nursery SENCO talking to her specialist supervisor. I spoke to the SENCO today and she is going to take DS's case to a lift meeting (not 100% what that stands for) next week. She said that hopefully they will get a specialist teacher to come in and help DS. Things suddenly seem to be moving very fast. have

In a way I'm glad that things are happening and that other people are recognising things in him as well. And I'm pleased that he will be getting some more support to try and help him learn how to deal with things, and is too. On the other hand I'm worried for him and how this will all affect him. And it also means it's not all in my head
