negative thoughts

My son Oscar is 6 , he was diagnosed with ASD when he was 2 , he's also double incontinent and suffers from bronchial asthma treated with various steroids.
He's very aware of what's going on around him and aware that he's "different" .
He's in mainstream school atm , recently he's been having very negative thoughts about himself, saying he's a freak, stupid and an idiot. This makes me so sad because normally he's such a happy boy .
Has anyone gone though this with their child before.
