Finally got the report from the ADOS where my DS was diagnosed with autism. I want to send it with my DLA application, but it says on the front "strictly confidential and must not be disclosed, photocopied or reproduced for any other purpose without the consent of the writer".

So what do I need to do??

And put the ex authority name down in the experts you wish to be contacted section.

Thank you, so I definitely won't get into trouble will I?! Think I've already put the doctor's details down somewhere...

just send anything in you have. it may eliminate the need to contact the paed (and the paed may only reply after ages) and speed up the process for you.

I would really not worry about it at all. paeds have far bigger fish to fry Wink

Thank you choc - hope that's the case! We've already been fobbed off for 4-5 years when I knew DS was different but health visitors etc disagreed. Guessing this will be a loooong process though!

I was scared too when I got a copy of report and wanted to send it in. I asked the psychologist and she said it was our report and we could copy and send it to who we liked.

Apparently if the information in the letter/report relates to your ds then it is your ds's data to do with as he wishes (and you as his representative). I presume it is there for data protection purposes within the NHS/LA etc rather than for you. I copy these all the time.

Thank you jerbil and blae. The SENCO photocopied everything for me and I posted it on Friday so wish me luck!
