Posting on behalf of my sister whose 15 year old daughter is really struggling. She is high achieving but experiences high anxiety, has manic behaviour, finds it very difficult to make/keep friends, struggles to read and understand social cues. This is her GCSE year and though an A grade student can no longer concentrate on learning because of anxiety. Also can't cope with any exam setting. School recognise that she has problems and are 'keeping an eye on her', she has had counselling but seems to know all the right things to say, and just waiting to meet Camhs. We don't know what to do for the best, move school, home school? My experience with Camhs has not been convincing what can we be doing while we wait for them? Thanks ever so much for reading, You lot have always helped with my son, so I hope you can help with my lovely niece.

how soon till she is seen by CAMHS? They should give a variety of questionnaires for anxiety/depression as part of their assessment, and may include an ASD one. Ask for one discretely if they don't.
