After 22 months, 3 tribunal hearings, a borderline breakdown and a child out of school!!

It is still weak and has very little quantified in it but it does have 17.5 hrs 1:1 and some additional literacy stuff written in!

Our advocate is not happy with it, he would like me to continue fighting to get it right but we are done!

We just want to see a document with final statement written on it so we can de register Dd3 and put a halt to the ridiculous game that we have been playing fir the last 2 yrs!

Dd3 is calm and settled and needs closure, she has plans for yr 10 which is why we needed to see the statement thing through to the end.

I think there is enough useful stuff in the statement to support her in a decent small, nurturing enviroment which is what we have found for yr 10.

So fingers crossed we can end our journey with school and carry on enjoying what we are doing now. We are so busy I dont know how we found time to go to school and work!

Thanks everyone who has supported me throughout this utter nightmare and I hope all your journeys turn out ok too! Smile

Wow Ineedmore it sounds good to me. After our statement process for Ds I lay in a darkened room for several weeks days. Just about to start again for Dd Sad

DS's was finalised in July, it feels weirdly distant now but I still jump every time my phone pings after 18 months of slog and having to leap into action on receipt of an email or message, it really takes it out of you. I've stayed away from the SN boards to a large extent for a couple of months because I needed a total break from it all, but sometimes a post pops up in Most Active as this one did. Good luck with yours for DD 5608.

Glad that you have got to where you want to be. Onwards and upwards for your dd!

Great news! I am five weeks away from my hearing. Final evidence is tomorrow and I am never doing this again!

My non verbal asd toddler can advocate for himself ( which boy... Will he). He is my revenge. No ehcp for his start in 2016.

When the school ask all about him my only words will be "he has autisum" under my breath I will utter "enjoy covering that over with some double sided tape and turning him into a nice uniform sausage!"

Never, ever again. Well maybe if I have to. But not something I would rush to do again.

I bet you wont need to do it again for your little one 2boys as you say his needs will hopefully speak for themselves!

Good luck for your tribunal and thanks Smile

If it wasn't so important and costly I could laugh right now.

One shity email to the senco re IEP sent.

Waiting to see if the LA tomorrow have repeated the things they did last time that my formal complaint was upheld over.

Reports saying my son was seen in Nov 15. Even my 11 year old snorted his drink out his nose when I told him that. My son is now a girl.

But they are the experts. Pffff!!!!

If they did a bit less copy and paste and a bit more actual research into each child they might not make so many fuckups!!

Indeed. His statement was a copy and paste. So was the IEP.

About four kids with statements in the school and not shown the progress and IEP targets wrong. Which parents do the senco get it right for? If you can't get it right for the ones with the highest level of need then it's just a box ticking joke.

Hence the never again

We had decided to remove Dd3 from her school whether we won the tribunal or not to be honest because it was never in a million yrs the right place for her!

In a way it would have been easier to walk away if we hadnt won and had to wait for the statement to be written! In typical style my LA produced the crappest statement known to man and we are now on draft 4!! Its utterly ridiculous because the have made all the changes we have asked for without question and all we have asked for is for it to be lawful and not vague!

If only they could just have done it right in the first place when they know I know when they are lying and being crap!

Hey ho 22 months of trauma are nearly over and Dd3 is coming back to us slowly but surely!
