Which potty did you use?

Hello all!

Just after some potty recommendations? We saw our specialist health visitor on wednesday and we decided to get a potty to see how DS responds to it. It's just going to sit in the bathroom for now. No pressure. We've just changed him from nappies to pull ups during the day to make nappy changing times easier for everyone and he's responded to that change really well. This is the next step.

HV recommended a potty with a high back as DS is nearly 3 and quite tall, and one that is quite sturdy so doesn't slip when he gets on and off it.

What kind of potty did you use with your little ones? What worked and what didn't work? And what did you use with the toilet for if they wanted to sit on the toilet instead of a potty? I think HV called it a toilet ring?!

Thanks in advance! :)

I have used the baby bjorn potty which has a high back on it. Would recommend it. I also have their toilet seat which is very secure.

Thank you both! I will take a look at those suggestions.

Polter is what is in your first picture called a toilet ring or is it called something else?

We used this potty chair for DD. She doesn't have SN but was quite late in potty training (turned 3 before she would do it). She's the size of a 4-5 year old & she sits comfortably on it at the lower height. Very sturdy.

Yeah that's what I'm looking for. Think I'll go with MooMummyMoo's suggestion of the baby bjorn or one resembling it for a bit cheaper! I didn't realise there was soo much variety when it came to toilet training! lol I'll sort that first before getting a toilet seat as I'm sure to get the wrong one for our toilet! lol

Thanks for all your suggestions and help :)

I got a large potty from Sainsburys. It was called the summer infant dino potty. My ds was 3 or 4 and chose it himself which made him want to use it. I bought one for his nursery so he could use one there too.

We also had the toilet seat with the children's seat but he didn't use that for very long preferring the adult seat.

Good luck x

Our baby bjorn potty chair arrived on Monday! I've had DS sitting on it a few times but he won't sit still for longer than a second! lol

Thanks for all your help and suggestions! I did also like the summer infant potty because it doubles as a step, too. But this baby bjorn is proper sturdy. I think I could even sit on it! lol
