Just been reading 'the out of sync child' and read about problems with eye motor movements. OT has said my ds has visual perception issues. I have noticed that he doesn't seem to move his eyes sideways to follow an object he has to move his whole head. When reading he remembers words on flash cards very easily but struggles to read them in a sentence. He often just guesses at words and when I tell him to look at the word his gaze goes sowhere else. If I ask him to look at the camera for a photo he doesn't, or to look at a ball when playing catch he can't seem to focus. A physical needs teacher who observed him noticed he held a kaleidoscope at a very weird angle to look at it.I have had his eyes tested but his eyesight is fine. Am just wondering if anyone has any experience with visual issues like this? Should I ask for further assessments but from who, how do I help him or is all this normal? He's 5 by the way and has no diagnosis just a lot of issues.
