Does this sound feasible?

Ds can be very hard work - obsessive behaviour, endless talking about the same thing, socially difficult, physically limited...

I am thinking as respite employing a student (male) to spend a few hours with him every few hours. To gently kick a ball around, talk about football, play Uno...

I would pay well.

Do you think this sounds at all like a sensible idea?

(I've had the most horrendous day with ds so please be gentle with me)

Know exactly where your coming from feel similar here some days are much harder then others. Don't see a problem with your idea you would need to find the 'right' person. How old is your ds? We have set parks and lots of them, spend hours playing footie generally I take a good book and he finds others to play with. Hope you find some help we have tried an autism days with some sucess

He's nearly 9, doesn't find it easy to connect with others. I have two dds as well so it's finding the balance. Where do I find out about autism
Days?

Sounds good bbkl.

I stupidly stil try to do outings with him that my dd's would have loved, to then experience complete disaster...

My LA has a scheme which provides people called 'enablers' to do the sort of thing your are asking for with children and young people with disabilities. Ds had several different people over the years. Two of them were brilliant, one was ok and one I 'sacked ' at the initial interview. They did stuff with him for about 2-3 hours a week which meant I could spend time with dd.
Ours came under the umbrella of social services. It might be worth enquiring if you have anything similar locally.

My ds is 9 to I have one older dd and just me to entertain both. She's a very good girl give her a book or three and she's well away. Also she has great friends whose houses are like 2nd homes for her we are very lucky. Therefore our house can revolve around ds for a quiet life.
Today I had to remove him from a park after 2 hours of footie as had to collect dd and a friend from swimming. Found autism days on local autism website I stayed with him as he can be 'difficult' but can leave if over 8 in this area. Do different 'sporty' days and outings.
