had heard there had been changes - was a school I was thinking about visiting - there are other parents on the board with children there so hopefully one of them will be along shortly

DS1 goes to Frewen (weekly boarder). Can you say what sort of problems? You can PM me if you don't want to post here. I was a little surprised by his latest report but has AR in January so am wary of LA questioning progress and so am loathe to bring it up myself at this time. Especially since new head wrote to us and copied in the LA as the funding body, refusing to authorise DS1 continuing to leave early on a Friday - a suggestion of previous staff as the rush hour traffic was adding at least 2 hours to the journey.

My son boards there and is much happier this year. Other changes we have seen this term have been better reports, introduction of homework etc. smile Also better communication. So change, yes - but positive as far as we are concerned. we are very happy with Frewen.

This is to the parent who has decided they are on a personal mission to support Frewen in the most underhand way . After asking this question above --a parent has gone to the principal as a "supportive parent" and has caused more issues by making it seem I have been overly negative or damning about a school. I wanted to know of any other persons problems with changes to curriculum or therapies as i do not know many of the parents personally. So mistakenly I asked on here.
This parent has gone to the school (straight away) and said that on mumsnet --I put " big problems after staff changes - any other parents?? " certainly not helpful to parents just asking for advice about their child. I know not to post on here any more at least. That person ,you know who you are and what I think about you is not good. If you wish to tell the school lies ,congratulations on being the worst type of trouble maker as you know nothing about me and it does not concern you at all.

I am being accused but am not guilty.

Perhaps the person who is should fess up? Publicly, on this board, rather than by PM.

KeepOnKeepingOn1 Thu 08-Jan-15 19:22:12

Nobody? Perhaps you could send the OP a PM?

Keeponkeepingon. Its fine as i said i will leave it but i am finding out who it is. It be a warning to others that asking for advice can be twisted by certain people. The person who has been this sly will not own up . Its not even as if anything terrible has been said. Just the title even though if I am not pleased about something I was sure in the UK We were alllowed free speech.?? If this parent is that desperate to be liked just give them the pity they deserve.Take care keepon.x

WELL -- after many problems and being threatened with a knife my daughter got fed up with being bullied daily and refused to go to school. she has always had excellent attendance until the new principal decided to ignore bullying. She has been off school 7 months and I have had to go through another tribunal for a better school as this one now only wants a certain type of student -- higher academic ability and preferably not paid for by County. The new Principal called bullying a teenage thing and he was heard saying he preferred private paying pupils. glad she is out of it as he is a disgrace to the education system.

My son is due to start in year 7 in September . I've read such mixed reviews it's making me nervous !

Please note THIS school was Excellent before SEP 2014 and I won at Tribunal for my daughter BUT then the new head took over.
HE is the issue as he has lied and even refused counsellor for my daughters mental health needs , anxiety and self harm after severe bullying , and to me that is negligent. He ignored Bullying and THAT caused the school refusal.

The "Bully girls" are still leaving messages on PHONE despite leaving this place 7 months ago. They call and text from boarding and he is complacent.
My daughter is not the only one who has left in year 10 or 11 because of Bullying and the effect for some has been Extremely damaging.
The sad day the previous lady head left and he took over ( sep 2014) was the end for the Caring nature of Frewen.
Its ALL about results now . When my girl started 2012 the school accepted more SEN types ( Such as ASD ) and by 2014 the school stopped taking kids as the grades were not high enough. This man has told me personally ( AND he was recorded saying it with his knowledge ) my daughter being bullied and "WAS A TEENAGE THING" and his punishment for a student who threatened my girl with knife ,was to send to his room for the afternoon. THE reason for this in my opinion is that if the school policy was followed correctly it would appear on public record a suspension or worse which looks bad for school.
Despite me proving bulling ( with emails from him about knife etc ) Ofsted and ESCC have failed to deal with it and have tried to hide the paperwork from School safeguarding unit . I am now taking this to complaints higher level with Local Government Ombudsman . I would never dream of allowing my daughter to refuse school in year 10 unless the head had not failed her so miserably and she was threatening to take her own life if she was made to go.
. She has been diagnosed by CAMHS and St Thomass with Severe social Anxiety with OCD Traits yet they refused her access to counsellor and just tried to blame home. NOT acceptable and a disgrace.

She is now at a Good school that cares about her wellbeing and not just academic scores ( after yet another Tribunal ) .
My only wish is that I had taken her out of Frewen sooner due to the wasted time --- I couldn't believe a previously good school could ignore her statement of SEN by not giving her OT AND SALT Therapies , HIDE Bullying like being hit with hockey stick , called named , pushed on stairs and threatened with knife. I have been informed that at an open day the head was heard to tell parents he wants as " few as possible County funded children" when they asked "how many LA funded children attend".

I was not there but was told this an independent SALT. She no longer recommends Frewen for many people as it is "not the same school it once was prior to 2014. She helped me and many others win a place at Frewen in 2012. She is reluctant to do so now.
