poor pastoral care residential sn school

Sorry changed name as don't want to be outed by school. I am really worried about the level of pastoral care at my sons school. Particularly the boarding side. There seems to be little or no supervision. No care planning. There must be on paper. Ofsted outstanding for care. His behaviour has deteriorated I would love to remove him but he is at a at a crucial point academically so hard to change schools now. In 6th form. Any ideas. Thanks

You could be talking on my behalf, but my so. Is only nine and has years of "hell" ahead of him.. I feel desperate and I feel trapped. Identical feelings and sick of the rosie picture the school paints when in fact it is just totally undisciplined, unstructured and a haven for bullies. Wish I could take him away. Wish it was that easy. Basically no choice. Every parent who's take their child out now home educates.

similar situation here where the school is quite like yours bigbird. We are going to be pulling ds out but luckily our LA agrees that it is the wrong place for him and have helped us in finding a replacement. There were very few options available though.
Talk to the school first and see what their response is. We had quite a few meetings where promises of improvements were made but these were short lived.You can always request an emergency review which is what we had to do.Hope things improve soon.

Thanks for the replies. I am sorry others are in the same boat. We have a meeting with the school tomorrow. I really think we need outside help if we are to salvage this but don't know where to turn to. Also I am sure they will convince any outsider all is well and dandy.
