dd1 has diagnosed adhd and is medicated. there are also other issues, as yet undiagnosed. she is nearly 10, currently in year 5 at a very good besn primary school in gloucestershire. we need to have an application in for secondary school by end of march 2015, and i have no idea where would suit her. the school has suggested a number of options, one being the school her brother attends which is good but they have very different needs, the one which they normally refer to is not currently accepting referrals, the option of mainstream is a sticky one but i will be looking into it, and the other options involved a 90 minutes journey each way, which i am not convinced she will cope with. we had her ehcp transition meeting today, and i dont know what to do now.

Have you considered the Cambian New Elizabethan School near Kidderminster? It is a day school but may be within reach depending on whereabouts in Gloucestershire you are. ds1's journey (different school) is just over an hour and is really at the limit of what he can cope with so I think you are right to avoid a 90 min journey. How would you / she feel about boarding as that might open up some more options.
