My child has a diagnosis of autism and LD. Would they still take him at the school?

yes they might but you need to do the 2k assessment as part of their eligibility assessment. but the reports you get are so comprehensive and the best Speech and Language report for sure and if Cathy is still their Ed Psyc a very good report there too

Ring and ask them. They dont bite and that way you will have the facts on which to make an informed decision. Not others views no matter how well intentioned.

I don't understand all these S&L schools that pretend they don't take ASD.

I have toured many of them and whatever they say or think, they most certainly DO!

The issue is likely to be what comes first - SLT or ASD?. If SLT then that will conform to the OFSTED description of the school.

make sure they really do have ASD provision and appropriately trained staff. I say this as a parent who has a child with ASD as his 2nd disability at an independent special needs school that specialises in his 1st disability. No matter how much they say "they can do ASD" . its on their web site and they have many pupils with ASD . the school hasn't a clue. very good for disability 1. and for kids just with that great but not ASD
