Can anyone tell me what the above can mean?

Thankyou!

Just a cursory look see brings up that it's common in patients with prolonged asthma.

thanks ouryve, yes that was my understanding - but ds has never had asthma (the only one of us that doesn't!) So I was surprised that we received a letter from his paed saying that thickening of the walls of the airways had been noted on his recent chest xray.

hmm, curious.

I take it by the x-ray that he has had some lung issues, though - I spotted it mentioned as a response to other disorders that cause coughing, as well.

Lung function tests? Have they shown up anything?

Hello Sallybear - he hasn't had lung function tests - are they possible in very young children ( or those with delayed understanding)??

It's odd because it has never been mentioned before, the concern has always been the consolidation in his lung. I wondered if it is something temporary?

I have lung function tests and tbh I don't think young children would be able to do them.

Is the consultant concerned?
