Dd is seven but the size of an 11 year old. She loves thomas and would like to dress up as him or his driver, I sent her in with my dads hat and a body warmer which she was fine with but it made me think because having a bit if a google, all thomas stuff seems aimed at toddler boys.

Anyone know of places which do stuff for bigger children/ adults but thomas related? Or just train related really, judging by the train fair we went to there must be a market for it as it was packed with grown up train enthusiasts!

Anything thomas really, as she would love thomas pjs.

I would also be eternally grateful if any of you have any tips for clothes which are soft , comfy, take a lot of battering etc but look nice when they get older! Its all skinny jeans etc in most shops so she lives in gap jogging bottoms or leggings and tunics. Don't even get me started on school uniform!

Love boden for her because of the cotton (excema and psoriasis too, on her bottom/back so have to have Cotton if it touches there or her face in fact! ) but often find they are a bit skinny fit for her (she has my shape , big bottom, tummy and thighs )

What school uniform items are you after?

I get dd1's school trousers from M&S - not the usual school uniform, but their boy's chinos. They are available in a range of colours (dd1 needs navy) and are 100%cotton and only £12. They don't last brilliantly, but dd1 is hard on trousers (all the OT and bike riding take their toll!) and she gets a good 8-10 months out of them typically.

Jak-O children's clothes can be good. Lots of nice bright colours and last reasonably well. Delivery is good too - 7 euro for delivery within 5 days from Europe.

Polarn O. Pyret clothes can be good too (but expensive!) - I mostly use them for coats/outerwear as it is really good and lasts well (dd1's last coat she had for 3 years and looked good as new after a wash. If I hadn't lost it it would have been fine for dd2 as well, so can justify the expense)

Thanks alarm I hadn't heard of jak-o so will check them out too , and good tip about m and s boys trousers I wouldn't have thought to look there.

Sorry I didn't answer the question, it is trousers that are the major problem, I tend to get bhs generous size for her t shirts and just size up for the school's jumpers as she won't wear cardigans but bhs have only polyester type trousers so they can only be worn with a very long vest tucked in to protect her skin and she gets cross about wearing them as they have buttons which she hates the feel of. Currently she mostly wear jogging bottoms which I got in age 11 and got my mum to take up.

I know we're not really talking about uniform but I get ds3's school trousers from a site on the internet called Sturdy Kids. The trousers have lots of elastic in them so DS (12 yrs) can get them up and down without doing the button or zip.

If anyone knows where you can get Pingu pants in a small adult size I'm sure ds3 would love them forever.

I did look at sturdy kids and can't remember why I didn't order, maybe it was the fabric...will have another look now though thank you.

I have a basket full at sensorysmart...thinking of ordering a light compression vest, if anyone has tried them I would love to hear how they got on. Also a belt, a hairbrush, socks, a top and a dress for dd. and I am meant to be having a cheap month as just had tax credits cut massively due to new job (which is going to leave me worse off if carers allowance goes too, but that's a different thread!)

Oh wow thanks! She's been after thomas pjs for ages since she outgrew hers years ago, I think one of those t shirts with some pj bottoms, pjs! Or just as a t shirt.
Logo such a good idea too as can go on anything. Thanks!
