Just that really.

You mean why do they sometimes regress between 11-25 mths?

It's amazing how a child can go from talking and interacting to full blown regression

My DD lost language after an illness around age 22 months, and regressed. I read it happens in around a quarter of cases that way. No idea why.

My DS didn't lose language (he didn't start speaking at all till after 2), but he regressed majorly eating wise, due to sensory problems. After not eating any solids till 12 months (not even purées), he made big strides and was almost eating normally (for a toddler!) by 18 months. However, slowly he began to drop all normal foods apart from dry food, and by 2.5 he had regressed to purées. Now he's five, he will still only eat dried food and purées and won't eat unless I spoon feed him.
