He is 8 and being investigated for sn he keeps crying and getting anxious that there will be a fire and he will lose all his stuff. I don't know what to say to calm him down.

My DS responds well to factual information if he's worried about something, do you think this would work for your DS?

You could explain that house fires are very unlikely, mention ways they start that couldn't possibly happen in your home, that you have smoke alarms etc.

Has something happened recently that's triggered his anxiety about fires?

Thanks I'll try that no nothing has happened he just seems every now and then to get anxious about something new.

Just saw this. I have a DS with HFA; he gets very anxious if he watches certain programmes on TV e.g. alien abduction or something like that. Cue cant go to sleep.

I've found mindfulness/meditation to be a godsend....tried it from desperation one night and it was a great success.
I either do it myself or use a download/app on my phone. He prefers when I do it, so I've recorded myself.
It might help?
