who can give autism accreditation to schools?

Hi I wonder if you can help me. I am just following up an enquiry about autism accreditation. Is it only the NAS who can give accreditation?

I'm only asking because the governors in one of the schools here have said the school is autism accredited and has asked us to put this on our support group wall, but when one of the parents rang the NAS to enquire about this, they were told that the school had only made enquiries and were not accredited nor working towards accreditation.

Is it only the NAS who can award this accreditation? We do not want to give our member false information.

I'd rather not rock the boat right now. This came after the governor personally attacked a lot of members of the group for not wanting to choose that particular school :(

I'm not sure how asking the school what form their accreditation takes should rock the boat? What is your support group? Why should you do anything for this man if he is rude? I'm not sure I understand why you feel you have to do as he asks without checking this.

Surely the information you give out has to be accurate?
