Firstly HNY to you all. We've had an interesting week here. DS4 decided on Christmas day that he was suddenly going to begin PECS when he couldn't get my attention, while I was cooking turkey. He passed my DH a card for a drink. Since then he has moved from stage 1 PECS to Stage 3 in ten days! Astonishing!

Hny from here too.

Well done to minibear Grin

I am in danger of falling out with Dd2 and 3 if they dont stop bloody sqabbling.

Bloody ipad! Anyway I meant to say that DS4 is deaf and non verbal ASD, so we are delighted that he is trying to communicate with us. Best Christmas present ever!
DS1 has now been dx with Dyspraxia on top of his recent dyslexia dx and original Aspergers dx. Relieved as we can finally start the Statutory Assessment process.
So apart from trying to be good and shed half my body weight I am looking forward to the four DC return to school next week. Smile

Exciting times! You will be waiting by the phone for the agent to call. I hope that its accepted.
How is the weaning going? By the time I got to no4 I was so over the puréeing everything in sight!

Great news, SallyBear.

Took my tree down today, love putting it up but really happy to get my living room back, it seems really big. Hoover out and spring cleaning started. I'm not very good at housework so once a year is fine. Grin

No boys this weekend, so no squabbling here.

Fantastic about the pecs, Sallybear! Ds just likes to chew them and try to peel the Velcro off the back.

We have been enjoying ds's new iPad. Ds actually signed 2 colours, whilst I was playing a balloon popping game with him, and although he prefers hitting Talking Tom in the face, rather than talking to him, he did try to kiss him better, which was nice (thank god for the drool proof case!) Of course it is also nice to mumsnet on in bed!

I have also sworn to try and lose weight, not helped by a compulsion to finish off all the vast amounts of chocolate left over from Xmas.

Ellenjane, you're my kind of woman Grin
Hazeyjane I am so pleased that you got the iPad. It's been brilliant for DS4. I also discovered that the Pyramid people have developed a new PECS Stage III app that mimics the Velcro book.

At least it will be a quick thing when it comes to washing. The twins have their own shower room, and its so much easier to get them in the shower than have them wallowing in bath water for what seems like hours!

Showers in our house seem to go on for hours, and involve flooding the bathroom. Mind you I have just been up to see how the girls were getting on in the bath and they have scrawled moshi monster drawings all over the wall with the bath crayons I bought for ds. Do I scrub it off when they go to bed, or just pour myself a large wine and learn to live with it for a bit - vote please!

Evening, I am limping in and out again after getting home from a 4th birthday party with dd. Eurgh! I had forgotten how chaotic and noisy those all-class parties can be. I find myself in serious need of Wine and chocolate in order to recover. Grin

Well done Little Bear, what an amazing Christmas present. Smile

Hazey, I remember when ds1 was using Talking Tom with his Ed Psych - to be honest there were times when I felt like hitting him in the face! Grin

I am planning to take a serious hold of my diet and try to gradually start exercising again starting next Monday. The house is currently still full of post-Christmas and NYE goodies, so I think I'd be setting myself up to fail if I tried to start this week.

Things are still a real mess with both this year's schooling and the whole secondary transition debacle and we haven't been able to do a thing about it for a fortnight, as the world and their mother had the whole two weeks off. The LEA all had the whole two weeks, then have an all staff training day all day on Monday and our officer is only in for two days next week, both part-time. We did manage to speak to an admin assistant today, who warned us that we probably won't get to speak to her next week because she will be really backed up and busy after the two week break. Angry It's bad enough for us, with the secondary admissions deadline looming, but I feel really sorry for all those people who will have received a proposed statement on Christmas eve, in the full knowledge that they would then be unable to meet their 15 day deadline. Angry

On a more positive note - I am finally off my crutches and it's lovely to be able to hold my dc's hands on the way to and from school. Still hurts like hell, but at least I am finally able to walk and use my hands at the same time. Grin

Hi all. what fantastic news re: Pecs, and possible house moving - different Christmases coming up then!
Hideous holiday here! Half of them ill, one still not better and constantly reviewed, but hopefully returning to school on Monday, if careful while there. On the upside, ds discovered he has Aspergers and seems quite okay. It appears to be quite useful to him - 'you know i can't do that mummy, i don't really understand what you're saying' Grin

fab news sallybear!!

hazey, dd3 does similar with talking tom, she loves her ipad and can use it better than the rest of us! If you're looking for more apps have a google for Flo Longhorn apps for very special learners, well worth a look.

I'm in the fed up with squabbling camp, must be back to school soon Grin now where did that gin go?

Evening all. I'm a ncer from ben10 as he is ancient history in this house. Not been aroundm much as have been struggling health wise.

Want gin but am doing the low carb boot camp so another 10 days until alcohol is allowed. Angry

Ds really seems to have grown up this holiday. Dh has spent load of time at home and he gains load from that.

I'm on course to be medically retired in maySad but it would mean I can get a dog Grin .

Good to hear all the news

Hazeyjane invest in a JML magic eraser. I have no idea what toxic stuff is in it, but it got rid of nasty coloured scratches from Bath toys that were all over the acrylic bath.

Moose glad to hear that you're feeling more mobile.

Slummy a dog?!! Fantastic, are you looking at a puppy or a rescue.

Hazey and Ninja, I am off to find Talking Tom. Sounds intriguing. Smile

Am at work, so flying past - hoi, moose, (and any other weight loss sn-ers) I have started our new yr thread! Have sausage fingers, so can't link on phone, but look for NT in the title. It's dead lonely on my own some....

Is it really Friday? Had a bad case of the grumps today. At least it was a bit more dry and the kids got to play outside on trampoline and bikes. First time I've seen them with pink noses for weeks. I'm so ready for a break from them going back to school but really dreading my youngest going back. Got the appointment for feedback from multi disciplinary, it's half an hour? Is that all it takes? Hello your child is/isn't autistic. Have a nice life. Bye Bye. ??? Feel a bit rotten about everything really. Just wondering what this half term is going to bring. Finding it very hard, the thought of taking him back to school when I know they don't want him there and now I don't either, but I need to overcome my negative feelings about it.
