Hi all, glad to hear all the dcs who have had good christmas's and hugs for all those 'meltdowns' and struggles.

Ds did something amazing on Christmas morning, they were asking for kids to come up and read a bit of the Christmas story in the kids bible that the preacher had brought with him. Up went ds's hand Xmas Shock and so he went off to the front, and (with a bit of cuddling and stroking) managed to queue and wait his turn Xmas Shock and Xmas Grin and then read a few verses into the microphone, Xmas Grin Xmas Grin all the kids got a clap but ds got a clap and a cheer, and lots of the parents coming over later and saying (to ds, and me) how lovely it was... a couple of them almost in tears.. I was in tears myself, had no idea he would want to do that, or be able to.... Wow!

ds has since spent his time coughing and lying on sofa, (or being 'stuck' to me in that, 'I am unwell therefore I am velcro-boy', way Hmm ) so we have not gone to nannys, cue grumpy dh... and we will be going next week, when I was hoping to relax when we don't have anything booked.

(but we do have good relationship with MiL, so I don't mind really,)

Happy New Year to all from all at chez sign. x

Aaahh bless him sign. Hope he feels better soon.

Dd3 has been in meltdown mode for the last 2 days. Have just sent her and Dd2 up to their rooms to find something to do away from each other for a while. They are sending me bonkers with constant bickering.

Going out for a walk even if it is heaving down tomorrow, Dd3 seriously needs exercisingGrin

Hope everyone else is survivingSmile

Aww, sign. Your boy has made so much progress. Something in my eye...

Completely missed last Friday's thread, my sense of days of the week has gone a bit strange. Had an OK Christmas here. Boys were with me Christmas Eve and Christmas morning then went to their dad's for lunch. But they didn't have Christmas dinner until Boxing Day, apparently, because the OW's DS was with his dad for Christmas Day. Bit weird for them and me. At least I know I'll have them next year.

DS2 has been loving spending hours on the PC, and I've been too lazy relaxed to stop him. Oh well, it's his holiday too and that's what he wants to do. Good job he has to share it with DS1 and DS3!

Hope everyone else has survived Christmas. Xmas Smile

i am Xmas Envy of the new name as patience has been a bit short in the sign household, Blush

(have been reading to ds that I wrote about him doing reading at church and all my friends were pleased and then had to try and explain 'something in my eye' LoL, had enough trouble explaining why i was sniffling in church when we sat back down... Grin

sorry to hear about the meltdowns needa, a walk sounds fab. ellen I too have been 'relaxed' about the computer, Xmas Wink.

PS is it just me or do any of yours expect the recorded telly to possibly be different each time they watch it. we have favourite episodes of 'lets play' (each episode either sid or rebecca is picked to play) he knows which episode it is, he has picked it from the freeview PVR, he has watched it a zillion times so he knows who will be doing the playing, he can even quote chunks from it and he still is unsure which one of them it will be..... argh!!!!!

oops, reference my patience shortage. Blush

sign, yes Dd3 does that all the time she watches the same episodes of things over and over again but stlli seems to be surprised when things happen, she is very able in some ways but this is quite weird. She also gives a running comentry which drives everyone bonkers.

Oh gosh, I have had to count to 10 so many times today.

Now she is in the spare room roaring with laughter at Mr Bean, bless her Smile

Hi survived Xmas! Had a bit of a dodgy moment on Xmas eve when son had a meltdown when all our visitors arrived. His behaviour was more unusual than normal and eventually he tucked up in my bed with the iPad away from the party. He was fine on Xmas day, but much more in his own world than usual and Boxing Day a bit better when GPS were here. Hoping/praying for a diagnosis in January, he was a bit like the white elephant in the room and all the family members who have told me not to rush to get him labelled - SURELY they can see it now? Have been a bit concerned about his behaviour this week - he has been much harder to reach, less verbal, more unusual behaviours. Is this normal at Xmas? Though, much fewer meltdowns than last year. Family bereavement been hanging over us too. Some seem to have completely fallen apart and I have been not so bad really, almost been glad to switch off from it a bit. Is this normal? I have been enjoying the time at home with the kids despite all the probs. I know there are challenging times ahead so maybe just enjoying being in a bubble. If I do get diagnosis in Jan I will be asking loads of advice on here in the months to come.

Grandparent on Boxing Day: "I'm worried that if I lose weight then I'll look old and wrinkly".
DS2: "Don't worry, that won't happen... because you already look old and wrinkly."

Other than that and asking (loudly) whether it was time to go home yet from 2pm onwards on Christmas Day, I think we escaped quite lightly.

And he has been invited to a party!!! Smile

Well done everyone for getting through Christmas.

Movingon Any school holidays and Christmas celebrations are normally pretty tricky for a DC that needs routine. School holidays that are relaxed and DC can do what they want may be easier to manage, but family parties and your lovely, safe, familiar house being invaded are not so relaxing! But what is 'normal' for those of us on this board is a bit different to what's 'normal' for everyone else! Xmas Grin
